What is the greatest gift someone could give you?

Being a Psychologist, women, daughter, mother and other labels. The greatest gift I received was time from my mentor. I was 19 years old when I had infinite questions. At 19 I didn’t understand that time is the most valuable asset in any professional’s life. Everytime I had a questions for any conflict I would just go to my mentor’s clinic unannounced. without any appointment or any other reason. Him being a wise,old man would politely ask me to wait as he had real patients to attend to. After that, I would enter his cabin, and due to my profound ignorance I would not think that he might be hungry. He might have other priorities. and yes I was very imposing in those days.

He attended to all my questions on human mind, emotions, and everything under the sky without ever asking me ‘why do I want to know?’. later when I became more hot headed, I thought maybe he is giving me so much of his time without any payment. Probably he is studying me in-return. That’s what ignorance and false ego makes you believe. I was proofed wrong.

If I have to count the no. of hours he gave me in last 13yrs, solving every silly question. if I take 30mins everyday of last 10years. It comes down to 1825 hours.

Sir, gave me 1825 hours of his time free without asking for fees. and he charges 1000 for 1 hour. That is 18 lakh 25 thousand worth INR worth of his time as a gift.

The greatest gift was time and knowledge. I must be very lucky.
